Day 1: ALGIERS / GHARDAYA
Fly to Ghardaya at 6.30pm. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: GHARDAYA
Dedicated full-day tour of Ghardaïa and the UNESCO-listed M’Zab Valley. Highlights include navigating the narrow alleys of the ancient ksour, visiting the traditional carpet market, exploring local architectural landmarks, and learning about the rich history and traditions of the region.
Day 3: GHARDAYA / EL GOLEA / TIMIMOUNE
Today you journey 600 km (approx. 8 hours) across the Sahara to Timimoun. Enjoy a scenic mid-route stop at El Menia (El Goléa) to explore its palm groves and historical sites. Arrive in Timimoun by evening to admire its signature red-earth architecture.
Dinner & Overnight: Hotel in Timimoun.
Day 4: TIMIMOUNE
Full-day tour of Timimoun, the capital of the Gourara region. Highlights include discovering the traditional foggara water distribution systems inside the palm groves, admiring the town’s red mud-brick architecture, and witnessing a spectacular desert sunset over the dunes.
Overnight: Hotel in Timimoun.
Day 5: TIMIMOUNE / BENI ABES
Drive 350 km (approx. 5 hours) from Timimoun to Béni Abbès in the Saoura region. Following lunch, tour the town’s highlights, including the historic Hermitage of Father de Foucauld, the ancient ksar, and the sprawling oasis palm groves framed by dramatic dunes.
Dinner & Overnight: Hotel in Béni Abbès.
Day 6: BENI ABES / TAGHIT
Drive 140 km (approx. 2 hours) from Béni Abbès to Taghit. Tour the iconic historic Ksar overlooking the lush palm groves, then walk to the crest of the massive sand dunes of the Great Western Erg for a spectacular Saharan sunset.
Overnight: Hotel in Taghit.
Day 7: TAGHIT / BACHAR / ALGIERS
Morning drive from Taghit to Béchar (90 km / 2 hours) for your domestic flight to Algiers. Transfer directly to the international terminal at Algiers Airport for your departure flight home. End of tour services.
