Day 1: ABIDJAN (Ivory Coast)
Upon arrival at Abidjan Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel (Novotel, Azalaï, or Ibis). Situated on the shores of the vast Ébrié Lagoon, the vibrant economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire awaits your discovery. Highlights include St. Paul’s Cathedral—an architectural masterpiece featuring an inclined main structure attached to an imposing cross—and the Museum of Civilizations, where a rich array of traditional art, cultural relics, and authentic handicrafts brings the country’s history to life.
Day 2: ABIDJAN / GRAND BASSAM
Today you will explore the urban highlights of Abidjan and the colonial history of Grand-Bassam. In Abidjan, visit the architectural landmark of St. Paul’s Cathedral, the rich collection at the Museum of Civilizations, and the bustling district of Le Plateau.
Continue to the coastal town of Grand-Bassam, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its historic colonial old town. Here, step back in time with a tour of the National Costume Museum—located inside the majestic former Governor’s Palace—to admire an impressive display of traditional Ivorian attire and cultural regalia.

Day 3: MONROVIA (Liberia)
Welcome to Liberia! Meet your guide upon arrival for an immersive full-day tour of Monrovia. Your sightseeing highlights the city’s historic architecture, cultural heritage, and coastal beauty, including stops at the grand Centennial Pavilion, the historic Masonic Temple, and the Matadi Central Mosque. To round off the day, take a relaxing stroll along Silver Beach to experience Liberia’s stunning Atlantic coastline.
Overnight: Monrovia.
Day 4: MONROVIA
Join your guide for a half-day exploration of Monrovia’s landmark sights. Highlights include the Liberian National Museum, showcasing Liberia’s art and history; Providence Island, the historical site of the first settler landing; and the bustling Waterside Market, perfect for experiencing local trade and traditional crafts.
Overnight: Royal Grand Hotel (or similar).
Day 5: FREETOWN (Sierra Leone)
Join your guide for a captivating full-day tour of Freetown’s key historical landmarks. Discover Sierra Leonean history at the National Museum, stop by the iconic Cotton Tree and Maroon Church, and view the historic Martello Tower and Fort Thornton. Your day includes a memorable excursion to Bunce Island, exploring the haunting ruins of this historic 18th-century trading post.
Overnight: Country Lodge Hotel (or similar).
Day 6: FREETOWN
Enjoy a final morning of exploration in Freetown with your guide. Visit the famous Victoria Park Market (Big Market) to shop for authentic Sierra Leonean handicrafts, textiles, and local art. Afterwards, transfer to the airport for your onward journey.

LEVEL:
Travel by road in a region without sophisticated tourist infrastructure. Fairly comfortable, but with a need for the traveller to be flexible regarding the itinerary / timings etc. Can be hot and dusty at times. The rewards are being in a country that remains off the beaten tourist track, and being rich in diverse culture.

6 hotel nights. The accommodation is based on room sharing. Individual travelers must pay only one supplement. If you prefer to share, we will try to relate it to another individual traveler of the same sex.
